Onpoint Supports NewWave's CMS Primary Care Performance Reporting
May 2020 – Onpoint is partnering with NewWave Telecom and Technologies (NewWave), a Maryland-based digital services provider with a focus on healthcare, to support the U.S. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Innovation’s provider-reporting solution for the Comprehensive Primary Care Plus (CPC+) program.
This pioneering program, an alternative payment model, incentivizes practices to improve the quality of healthcare provided to Medicare beneficiaries while managing costs in the primary-care setting. The model is structured as a public-private partnership between Medicare and commercial plans within a region. Currently, 55 payers are participating across 18 regions. More than 2,800 practices are participating in CPC+ and are making a commitment to meet high standards of care delivery in their respective regions.
As a subcontractor to NewWave, Onpoint’s role is to generate the measure results that are incorporated into the CPC+ data feedback and reporting tool (DFT). We also are contracted to provide certain other quality assurance and data management services.
The DFT is a highly interactive reporting portal that enables practices to track their individual performance across different quality and cost measures. Results are benchmarked against other practices in the region.
Onpoint will be working with the NewWave team in the coming months to migrate the DFT functionality to an integrated, enterprise-scale technology solution in preparation for supporting the final years of the CPC+ model and the upcoming Primary Care First (PCF) model. Onpoint has thoroughly enjoyed our new engagement with NewWave and the important work that we are supporting on their behalf.
