Two Healthcare Innovators Join Onpoint's Board
January 2025 - Onpoint Health Data is pleased to announce the appointment of two new Board members, Jeff Yuan and Tracy Johnson, PhD. Together, their collective expertise in healthcare operations, policy, and technology innovation will help support Onpoint’s continued drive to support improvement in health outcomes through timely, actionable data and analytics.
Jeff Yuan, Co-founder of Taro Health, brings a wealth of experience in healthcare innovation, policy, and operations. At Taro, Jeff is focused on providing accessible health insurance plans both through the ACA Marketplace and for small businesses by investing deeply in plans that support direct primary care (DPC) -- a model that enhances care access, quality, and value for patients. Previously, he served as Head of Sales at Formation Bio, where he advanced clinical trial accessibility and efficiency, and as General Manager of Health Systems at Zocdoc, where he worked on enterprise sales and operations with large hospital systems for better patient access and online scheduling. Jeff developed his healthcare policy and operations experience as Associate Director of the Advisory Board Company, a national healthcare research and strategy firm. Jeff earned a master’s degree from Washington University in St. Louis and bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor (Go Blue!). His entrepreneurial spirit and deep expertise in healthcare technology and systems transformation align with Onpoint’s mission of driving improvements in health and healthcare through data-driven insights.
Tracy Johnson, PhD, Managing Director at Manatt, is a nationally recognized expert in Medicaid policy and healthcare innovation. With more than 25 years of experience spanning academic, consulting, and executive roles, Tracy has guided initiatives in value-based care, population health, and telehealth, with a focus on addressing social drivers of health. As the former Medicaid Director in Colorado and Medicaid Senior Policy Advisor at CMMI, Tracy has led groundbreaking efforts to support new models of care delivery and expand state participation in federal innovation models. Tracy also served as Director of Health Care Reform Initiatives for Denver Health, where she advised on state and federal delivery system and payment reforms, designed and implemented its population segmentation strategy, and directed CMS Health Care Innovation Awards evaluation. Her graduate education includes a master’s degree in bioethics from the University of Virginia and a PhD in health policy and management from Johns Hopkins University. Her advisory roles, academic appointments, and dedication to equity and innovation make her an invaluable addition to the Board.
